Feedback from 46

you have 7 posts. i think this is enough at the moment. Your story board is not on your blog yet. We think your ideas are very good because you will be mixing animation with real life this will really show off your creative skills. The story line is clear to understand by the way it is organised and presented. Its clear that the genre is childrens film but what kind of children's film is it adventure? mystery? e.t.c it is not very clear how you are going to actually produce this we think more detail. The way in which you have shown each process you have gone through, such as deciding which door to choose is very good because it shows everybody your ideas and that you have really thought about producing and planning it. you need to add in shot lists and story board.

Prop List

Books

Glasses

Knife Fork Plate

Pot of Pens

Computer

Door

Coloured Paper

Modeling Clay

THE NEW IDEA:

been thinking about our original idea and have decided to mix our first FIRST idea and our latest one to make a new opening sequence.

the story line of the film is about a boy who has a wild imagination which makes him see things in different ways and soon realizes that his imagine is becoming real.

have a still image of an object e.g. plant pot, have it swap between mediums like real-life, paper and modeling clay. this will be done to a couple of objects. the last object we will do is a door which will finnish on it in a real-life state which Josh will walk through into his class at school. bullying occurs and he storms of in a huff and smashes the apple on a wall. Title appears on wall where smashed apple hits wall.

music made by us will play throughout the objects morphing and stop suddenly when Josh walks through the door.

DOORS!

Looking for a door to shoot in our opening sequence.
Pictures of what we found are below:

Cubical Door: Hygienic ???

Dangerous Gas door: can not use for safety reasons! BANG!

Storage Container: access to key ???

Old Media Room door: under referb so cant use.

Locker: to small to fit Joshy in.

DOOR!: seems the best option at the moment.

Inital Ideas

switching between real life and animation( paper, Lego, modeling clay).

walking though doors or outside makes the switch to a different mediums

running children from a room, through corridors then outside and into another building.

in science lab, doing experiments(vinegar bi soda) thing go wrong and wake up in a the same room but everything is Lego and their body parts are scattered across room. all pieces drawn back together but mixed up, then come together properly and question what has happened.

Beginning shot of Lego on floor or someone finds something Lego in their pocket.

Alive Lego walking round class room in real world. Through crack in door into room. then changes to real person entering.

Childrens Opening - Monsters Inc. Analysis

Monster's Inc.'s opening sequence starts with happy "broadway" jazz type music at the start and the playful nature of the opening credits demonstrates that it is children's film. Cartoon style animation also fits with music at some parts, and some letters coming alive like monsters. the monsters and doors at the start show what is to come in the rest of the movie. the opening also includes important production team members e.g. director, editor and producer. The eerie beginning starts in a child's bedroom with quiet surroundings and slight wind. The main character is introduced by the manager of the company in a short speech that then cuts to said character. Monster's Inc. is a good film to analyse due to its high production values.
